I was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and it was during my teen years that I developed an interest in fashion. I studied Fashion Design at Wits Technikon and worked as a designer for several different companies in South Africa. In 1998 I started my own business, in which I designed and managed the manufacture of my own range of ladies clothing. In 2000 our family was given the opportunity to move to North Carolina and shortly thereafter my son was born, this meant putting my business on the back burner.

From 2007 to 2010 I worked with a friend who is a decorator, making curtains and window treatments for several of her clients, including the restaurant Sweet Basil.

In 2010 I felt the time had come to branch out and add something new to what I could offer, embroidery seemed like an extension of what I had done previously and a great opportunity to learn something new, so I purchased my embroidery machine in at the beginning of 2010. I am really enjoying the challenge and the opportunity to be creative in a new way in am looking for new ways to incorporate embroidery in some of my own designs.
